Athens Fringe Live FAQ
A. NETWORK
I. What is the Athens Fringe Network?
Athens Fringe Network is the first open and professional network in Greece for all the creative cores of the city. The Network aims to provide consistent support to the artists, activist communities, public agencies, academics, media and supporters in order to present, promote and strengthen creative activities in Greece and abroad.
4 BASIC PILLARS of Athens Fringe Network
The successful organization of Athens Fringe aims to its further development as a network and its activities are based on four basic pillars:
1. Athens Fringe Live: The well-known and successful Festival, is now ''Live'', aiming to be the leading field of expression and the meeting point of the original artistic creation and the public. The leading expression of the Athens Fringe Network, is the first step for members of the network to present their work, to meet with the public, with other artistic and activist communities, to co-operate with agencies, to network with professionals from the artistic area, and come to an open dialogue with the city.
Athens Fringe Live is an open platform, to present new artists and social activity groups. It is a grassroots, a participative, multidisciplinary, interactive art fair open to all the artists with no exception. It welcomes all forms of social action and art: music, dance, theater, visual arts, literature, crafting, etc. It is an ambitious innovative organization full of creativity and energy for a change and intervention. Athens Fringe Live is not only about the final artistic result but also focuses on the relationships that develop through the artistic procedure and the final act.
2. Athens Fringe Community: The members of the network have the opportunity to participate in a dynamic and active society. The networking platform via the website of Athens Fringe Network offers; online services (forum, blog, agenda, classifieds, personal portfolio etc), the possibility to the members to present their artistic profile and their work, to participate in team projects and to organize open day events-meetings for member’s guidance by specialists in industry and advancement.
Our main social action in terms of Athens Fringe Community is the “Solidarity” program. It is a program of mutual and volunteering offer of time for the benefit of the society. First we create a good number of volunteering teaching courses in a weekly basis. Moreover, every member of the community has to offer time equal to the time of the courses attended, for some of our programs for the common good of our community, of the city and of the society in general.
3. Athens Fringe Industry: Athens Fringe Network sets the foundations in order to connect, advertise and promote all its members. The members of the network through Athens Fringe Industry have access to information and receive continuous updates about events, performances, conferences, seminars and interesting news from the area of arts, cultures, education and social action.
Moreover, the members can participate in showcasing events under the presence of professional representatives from cultural institutions from Greece and abroad. In the meantime, we develop a strong mechanism that members can utilize in order to network and to present their work or action in Greece and internationally. Finally, our team by fine educated professionals undertakes the promotion of our member’s work in and out of the country.
4. Athens Fringe Funding: We launch campaigns for the financial support of Athens Fringe Live through different strategies (sponsorships, funding from government sectors, donations, synergies, cooperations, crowd-funding). We attempt to raise funding, to cover all the projects of all the members of Athens Fringe Network. Our team of professionals experienced in production, management and development of cultural projects work in order to support the ideas of all our members.
II. What is different this year? Which are the benefits from my participation in the Athens Fringe Network?
